Baptisms

We love baptisms!
We baptise people of all ages, especially children. It's a special heaven touching earth moment in a person's life, when they are welcomed in God's family forever. The family friendly baptism or christening usually happens during a Sunday morning church service or can be at another time to be arranged.

We are here to help you make your baptism special. We can offer advice about music, reading, godparents and anything else that makes the service personal to you.

Baptisms - Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between baptism and christening?
Nothing

Can my child get baptised if I don’t go to church?
Yes, and perhaps you might want to get baptised yourself?

How many godparents can I have?
If you are getting baptised as a teenager or grown up you don’t need godparents as you can speak up for yourself. If your child is getting baptised then you can have as many godparents as you like, but most people have between 3 - 6 per child.
Will the service be suitable for children?
We try to make our baptism services family friendly.

Do I have to have hymns?
No, you can have any suitable music or no music at all at your service.

How much does a baptism cost?
There is no charge for baptisms but we encourage you to make donations to the church.
