We are a small parish with only 22 houses, a mile from Charmouth. St Mary’s was built as a Manor Chapel in 1857. It is a gem of a building. The architect JL Pearson went on to build Truro Cathedral. In spring it is truly beautiful and we are high enough here to see the sea.
The church is small, seating 34 (although we squeeze more in at Christmas). Those wanting an intimate wedding or funeral ask to come here. We have a small gathered congregation of 10-15, catering for those who love BCP services so are joined by people from Charmouth. We sometimes use our small organ or our fantastic churchwarden bluetooths hymns to a speaker from his phone!
