Why not volunteer and make new friends doing something worthwhile.

The church is the people and without people, there is no church! Be part of it, not only by coming along to worship and learning about our faith, but also by volunteering to use your time and talents.

Make friends and be involved in something worthwhile in our local communities. 

We are always looking for people in our churches to help with:

• Church Services:  Welcoming people, doing the readings, writing and leading the prayers, helping the service leader to ensure the service runs smoothly.  If you feel called to train to lead services, we would be delighted to explore this vocation with you. Please speak with one of the clergy.
• Music - all types:  Singing, playing an instrument, leading musicians or playing in a band. 
• Bellringing: We have magnificent bells in St Michael's, Lyme Regis, St Giles Chideock, St John's Hawkchurch and St Candida, Whitchurch Canonicorum. If you want to be put in touch with the Tower Captain, please make contact through our Get involved form. Thanks
• Maintenance and care of our iconic listed buildings:  Cleaning, locking up, project managing building work, finding and employing contractors, working with architects.  Rewarding!
• Hospitality:  Food and refreshments - most of our churches run on cake.  We all love parties.
• Flower arranging and setting up for services:  Why not bring some joy by volunteering to arrange the flowers and decorate our churches for festivals?  Care of church linen, changing church altar coverings, buying candles and communion wine, overseeing the sound system, setting up for church services.
• Fundraising and Events:  Important stuff and fun too. Why not give it a go? 

Home Groups

We are also thinking of starting home groups around special interests. So if you have a passion for a sport, or walking or crafts or photography or anything else that you think would gather people in a group with a shared interest, we'd love to hear from you!
